Dear Everyone,

Many apologies for being offline and if we have missed any announcements sent to us.

Just to let you know that we are garnering several energies to plan the next edition of LASSnet in Delhi 2016. Details will follow in July or August. It would be great if LASSnet members also at the LSA meeting could come for this lunch to enable a conversation about the next LASSnet conference (details of the lunch venue below).

3.      Book Awards Announcement:
We are thrilled to announce that Mitra Sharafi is the winner of the J. Willard Hurst Award for the best book in socio-legal history published in the last two years.  Mitra will collect her prize at the Law and Society Association’s annual conference in Seattle on May 30.  The prize citation for Mitra’s fabulous book, Law and Identity in Colonial South Asia is at http://www.lawandsociety.org/prizes/2015_award_winners.html

The CRNs are unfunded efforts, so attendees will be asked to cover their own lunch bills
